Lorain police seeking leads in bank robbery

.

LORAIN — Police are still looking for a suspect who robbed a Chase Bank on Leavitt Road on Wednesday.

Special Agent Vicki Anderson, a spokeswoman with the FBI’s Cleveland division, said she was not notified that the suspect had been arrested.

The suspect, a white male in his 20s or 30s, is believed to be involved in a Tuesday robbery of an Ohio Savings Bank in Garfield Heights as well.

He was last seen wearing sunglasses, an orange-and-white baseball cap and a brown fleece sweater.

Security video at Chase Bank captured the man leaving the scene in a silver sport utility vehicle, possibly a Mercedes.
Police said the robber pointed a pistol at the bank teller Wednesday and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Lorain police Lt. Roger Watkins said police have made “some advancements” in the case, but he would not comment further.

Anyone with information can call Detective Brian Denman at (440) 204-2105, ext. 2148, or the FBI in Cleveland at (216) 522-1400.
