Tony Trupo, 88, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at his home, following a brief illness. He was born January 12, 1925 in Berea and was a lifelong Elyria resident.
Tony worked at Ohio Screw Products in Elyria for 30 years, retiring as a machine operator in 1990. Following his retirement, he worked as a “starter” at Brentwood Golf Course for 15 years. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria, was a WW II Army veteran, a member of the Elyria United Polish Club, and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia (David) Diederich of Bonita Springs, Florida; sons, Lawrence (Michelle) Trupo of LaGrange and Robert (Bambie) Trupo of Elyria; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and brother, Stanley Trupo of Berea.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene in 2005; and a brother, Jim Trupo in 2009.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 10 A.M. until the time of memorial service at 12 Noon at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Reverend Father Albert Veigas, Pastor of St. Agnes Church will officiate. Burial will be private.
