She made up for her quiet childhood by marrying Russell C Behm and having six children of her own, followed by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She touched lives in Warner, Mohicanville, Amherst, Bellefontaine (Camp Myeerah, Girl Scouts), Sherrodsville (Camp Wakonda, Christ Presbyterian Church, Canton) and Elyria, as a secretary, minister’s wife, camp cook, loving mom, and crafter extraordinaire.
Jean is survived by her sons, John R. (Leslie) Behm of Haslett, Michigan, Philip H. (Kelly) Behm of Arden, North Carolina, David E. (Jacquelin) Behm of Lexington, South Carolina, Paul R. (Susan) Behm of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Andrew G. Behm of Elyria; daughter, Marie L.B. Alford of Elyria; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doris Behm of Bloomville, Ohio, Ed (Eunice) Behm of Fremont, Ohio, Luella Ohl of Tiffin, Ohio and Frank (Ruth) Behm of Bloomville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Russell C Behm and parents, Robert H. and Louise C. Styles of Elyria.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 2 P.M. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 9715 East River Rd., Elyria. Rev. Bret Myers will officiate.
