He was a 1955 graduate of O.S.U. He worked as a registered Engineer and Surveyor for 15 years for U.S.X., 10 years as Cleveland State Director of Facilities, and four years with the city of Willoughby as Director of Public Services.
He served on the Boy Scouts of America, and Oberlin Baseball Federation. Dean was a member of the First Congregational Church of Lorain, and was a member of the North Ridge Racquet Club, Tennis Club in Avon Lake, as well as Vandemere Club in Hilton Head. Dean enjoyed tennis, sailing, boating and bicycling.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Jean Keller of Sheffield Lake; son, Larry (Eva) Keller of Waynesboro, Georgia; daughter, Lisa (Roy) Scherler of Medina; grandchildren, John, Jordan, Andrea, Dana, and Julia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fanny Keller.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Cowling Funeral Home, 228 S. Main St., Oberlin. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at First Congregational Church in Lorain. There will be a private family burial at a later date in Westwood Cemetery.
