Dennis N. Jackson, 70, a resident of Henrietta Township, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, at his home, following a short illness. Dennis was born December 9, 1942, in Amherst, where he was raised and graduated with the Amherst High School class of 1960. Henrietta Township had been his home for the last 43 years.
Dennis worked on the assembly line for the Ford Motor Company in Lorain for 30 years. He was an active member of Church on the North Coast in Lorain. He enjoyed Cleveland sports, including the Indians and the Browns. He enjoyed gardening and automobiles, but especially loved his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Sue (nee Rexroad); his sons, Ronald Jackson of Clarksfield, and David (Kim) Jackson of Elyria; his daughters, Charlene (Lance) Deshuk of Oberlin and Michelle Wilson of Amherst; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; his brother, John (Joanie) Jackson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Tucker; and his parents, Clinton Jackson and Ada Jackson (nee Murray).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, 2 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Reverend Troy Thompson, Associate Pastor of Church on the North Coast, will officiate.
