Randy Allen Fillmore, Sr., 56, of Derry and Latrobe, passed away unexpectedly at his Latrobe home from an apparent heart attack on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Randy was born March 4, 1956 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
Randy served in the U.S. Army from 1975-1981, and was a member of the Derry VFW Post #444, who always proudly supported our U.S. troops. He will be missed for his willingness to help others complete any project, no matter how difficult, with a great sense of humor and frequent laughter, and a smile to help lighten the job. He loved to hunt, watch the Steelers, and spend time with family and friends.
He left behind two sons, Benjamin A. Fillmore of Wakeman and Chief Petty Officer Randy A. Fillmore, Jr., of San Diego, California. Randy is survived by a brother, Dr. Terry Correll of Englewood, Ohio; sister, Sherry (Correll) Repas of Elyria; and a large extended family in the Latrobe Derry area, that was always there for him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret “Peggy” Correll; father, James Fillmore; and his step father, William Correll.
The family will receive friends for Randy’s Life Celebration, Friday, February 8, 2013, from 2 to 4 P.M., at the Matthew X. Merlin Funeral Home, 529 N. Chestnut St., Derry, Pennsylvania. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 P.M., in the funeral home, with Pastor David Henderson officiating.
