Robert A. Kinter, 75, of Grafton, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at EMH Healthcare, after a brief illness. He was born July 13, 1937 in Cleveland, living in the Grafton/Elyria area most of his life.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Grafton for many years, a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School in 1955, and attended Bowling Green University. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1956 till 1958 as a proof technician, and then worked for United Airlines as part of the grounds crew for 43 years before retiring in 2001.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, trap and skeet shooting and was a very accomplished pistol shooter. He was the PPC champion for two years in Virginia. He also enjoyed competitive archery shooting. Mr. Kinter also belonged to several gun clubs in the Lorain County area.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, married 36 years; two daughters, Gail and Tina; step daughter, Gina; two sons, Robert and Allen; sister, Sally A. Logar; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ivah Kinter; and one daughter, Linda.
Friends may call in Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 708 Erie St., Grafton, Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11 A.M., with Rev. John P. Seabold, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Grafton.
