Milan Komadina, 69, of Lorain, died suddenly Friday, February 8, 2013, in the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center, Lorain. He was born September 11, 1943 in Lorain, and was a 41 year employee at U.S. Steel in Lorain, retiring in 2012.
Milan was a car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows and spending time with grandchildren. He was a member of Lorain Moose Lodge and Amherst Eagles Club.
Milan is survived by his companion of 30 years, JoAnn Thurston (nee Malick); her son, Michael, his wife Kathi and their two children; sister, Sohie Mendek of Lorain and Milan’s Golden Retriever, Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milan and Dorothy Komadina and a sister, Helen.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Avenue, Elyria. A funeral service will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 1 P.M. in the funeral home. Reverend Father Richard Hudak, Pastor of St. Anthony Of Padua, will officiate.
