Sarah Elizabeth Thompson (nee Towne), 83, a life resident of Amherst, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at her home after a long illness. Sarah was born in Amherst Township, May 1, 1929 to the late Albert and Sarah (nee Hill) Towne.
She enjoyed camping and most of all being surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon A. Dobrinski of Lorain and Kathy J. (Michael) Hunt of Amherst; sons, Robert J. (Mae) Thompson Jr. of Sullivan and Roy L. (Linda) Thompson of Lorain; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert J. Thompson, Sr.; a sister, Irene House; her brother, Floyd I. Towne; an infant grandson; and son-in-law, Robert Dobrinski.
Family will receive friends Thursday, February 14, 2013, 4 to 8 P.M., at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. The funeral service will be Friday, February 15, 2013, 11 A.M., at the funeral home, with Elder Lenny Nardozzi officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
