Jack R. Reming, 86, of Elyria, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria, following a short illness. Mr. Reming was born February 14, 1926 in Elyria and lived here all of his life.
He graduated from Elyria High School with the class of 1944. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, and the Korean Conflict. He was employed at General Motors Fisher Body Plant as a supervisor in maintenance, for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Agnes Church in Elyria, the American Legion, Post 12, the 40 & 8 where he served as Lorain County Chef De Gare, and he was a Chief of American Legion Police Auxiliary for six years. He was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan (Paul) Wolford of Elyria; two grandchildren, Grant (Shelley) Wolford of Elyria, and Guy (Jen) Wolford of Euclid; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. (nee Kares) Reming; one daughter, Rosemary A. Reming in 1996; brother, Leon Reming in 1991; and his parents, George and Minnie (nee Neuberger) Reming.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M.. The American Legion Post 12 and the 40 and 8, will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 P.M. Closing prayers will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass at 10 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 611 Lake Avenue, Elyria, with the Reverend Father Albert Veigas, Pastor, officiating. Burial with full military honors, provided by the VFW Post 1079, will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
