LORAIN — A Lorain man with 32 driver’s license suspensions faces additional charges.
Wilfred Lawson Jr. drove through a flashing red light at the intersection of East 28th and Grove streets around 1:05 a.m. Sunday, according to police Officer Eric Alten’s report. Alten wrote that after stopping Lawson, Lawson said, “It was a flashing light. I yielded.”
Alten said he explained drivers must stop at flashing red lights and when he asked for Lawson’s driver’s license, Lawson said he didn’t have one.
Alten said 22 of Lawson’s 32 suspensions are open.
Lawson, 28, of the 1900 block of East 41st Street, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and failure to obey a traffic light. He was also detained on an unspecified warrant.
