Cleveland’s West Side Market reopens today

CLEVELAND — Cleveland’s historic West Side Market is ready to reopen nearly three weeks after a fire covered the inside with soot.

The 100-year-old landmark near downtown has been closed since a fire broke out in one of the stalls Jan. 30.

Officials said some vendors might not be operating in full swing as the market reopens Monday because they are still replacing food that had to be thrown out after the fire.

The city fire department hasn’t released its report on what caused the blaze, but foul play wasn’t suspected.
