Ronald E. Taylor, 69, of Normantown, West Virginia, formerly of Grafton, departed this life Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at his residence, following a long battle with cancer. Born on March 27, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles and Wilda Hendricks Taylor.
Ronald was a United States Navy Veteran and worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 2006. He also owned Taylor’s Construction Company, where he enjoyed doing jobs for family and friends. Ronald was a graduate of Midview High School, class of 1961. He enjoyed spending time on the farm with his wife Dee, the love of his life, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. On May 8, 1974, he was united in marriage to Duretha Moore, who survives at their Normantown home,
Surviving are his children, Shawn, Terri Wilmoth, and Bob (Cheryl) Whisman, all of Elyria, and Sue (Dan) Fayak of Sullivan. There are eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and four brothers, Chuck (Darlene) Taylor of Arizona, John (Darlene) Taylor of LaGrange, Richard (Susan) Taylor of Grafton, and Jim (Brenda) Taylor of Elyria, also surviving.
Along with his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by one son, Timothy A. Taylor.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 P.M., Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Ellyson Mortuary, Glenville, West Virginia and Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary at 11 A.M.,. Saturday, February 23, 2013, with Elder Larry Fisher officiating. At Ronald’s request, his remains with be cremated and private burial will be set at a later date
