Annabelle J. Watt (nee Hanigan), 71, of Elyria, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, in Lorain. She was born January 3, 1942 in Cleveland, was raised in North Ridgeville, and had been a 50 year resident of Elyria.
Annabelle was formerly employed at Puffer’s Floral Shoppe in Elyria. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, a member and past president of Women’s Council, and Ladies Guild, and also a member of the Altar Guild and Voter’s Assembly of the church. She was widely known for her Halloween displays of over 100 lighted, carved pumpkins decorating her yard.
Annabelle is survived by husband of 50 years, James W.; daughter, Cynthia A. Watt of Elyria; son, James H. (Anneliese) Watt of Terre Haute, Indiana; grandson, Jeffrey J. Watt; sister, Grace Fusa of North Ridgeville; and brothers, William Hanigan of Lorain, Charles Kolhoff of Elyria, and Reggie and Robert Kolhoff of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Virginia Hanigan; brothers, Joseph Hanigan and Denny Ray Kolhoff.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 2 to 5 P.M., at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. Friends will also be received Monday, February 25, 2013 from 10 A.M. until the 11 A.M. funeral service at St. John Lutheran Church, 1140 West River Rd. North, Elyria. Reverend James Herbolsheimer will officiate, with burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
