Johnny J. Wilkins, 60, of Eaton Twp. passed away suddenly Friday, February 22, 2013 in Elyria Memorial Hospital RMC after a brief illness. He was born November 22, 1952 in Wise West Virginia, living in the Grafton area since 1976.
He served in the U.S. Army late in the Vietnam era. Mr. Wilkins was employed at Don Moulds Plantation as a landscaper until his retirement in 1997. He was also a paper carrier for the Chronicle Telegram, assisting his wife and family. Mr. Wilkins enjoyed fishing, watching the History Channel, and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by two daughters, Angie (Brian) Fuller of Eaton Twp, Jamie (Robert) Bryner of Elyria, Carolynn Bias of West Alexandria, Ohio; two sons Jason (Tracie) Wilkins of West Alexandria, Ohio, Shannon (Heidi) Wilkins of Alabama; two nieces, Ryan and Lindsey; and 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Dina Wilkins of Elyria, Carol Brickey of Virginia; one brother, Leroy Wilkins Jr.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Cindy in December 2012; his parents, Leroy and Claudia Wilkins; and one sister, Diane Herron.
Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St. Grafton, Monday evening, February 25, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. with funeral service Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Ray Smith off. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Twp. at a later date.
