Marcella Adams Roys (nee Wright), 82, of Elyria, died in her home Saturday, February 23, 2013. She was born March 8, 1930 in Fleming, Letcher County, Kentucky, where she spent the early years of her life.
She had been a longtime resident of Elyria and had also lived in Lakeland, Florida, from 1999 until returning to Elyria in 2008. Marcella was a longtime employee of Oakridge Nursing Home in Westlake, retiring as activities director. She then worked as a receptionist at Elyria Memorial Hospital. She had traveled throughout 48 states and enjoyed entertaining in her home, playing cards and dancing.
Marcella is survived by her husband of 13 years, Donald D. Roys; son, Ronald (Theresa) Johnson of Lakeland, Florida; daughter, Suzanne (John) Glemza of Elyria; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; four stepchildren; and five step grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Goldie Waldecki and Vickie Moore; and brothers, Martin, Benjamin, Edgar and James Wright.
She was preceded in death by sons, Donald R. Adams, Jr. in 1958 and David A. Adams in 2005; brothers, Junior Hunter and Lindell Wright; and sisters, Shari Dawn Moran and Cheryl Dye.
Friends will be received Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 6 to 8 P.M., in Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home, with Reverend Darrell Deer, Pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
