Steven John Stefek, 23, of Amherst, passed away in the loving arms of his mother and father, Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2:22 A.M. Steven was born September 19, 1989 in St. Charles, Illinois. He lived in the Elyria and Amherst areas all of his life.
He was a member of St. Jude Church in Elyria. Steven loved music, especially drums and rhythm and listening to the Beatles and Bob Marley. He was an avid fan of the Blue Man Group, Snoopy and Disney movies. He loved to swim and loved the simple joy of feeling the waves at the beach. His greatest joy was having his mother sing to him and his dad giving him hugabugs. Steven wants everyone to remember that Four Hugs A Day is the minimum, not the maximum.
Steven is survived by his parents, Cheri (nee Stamper) and her husband, Tom, of Amherst; his father, Daniel Stefek of Elyria; his brother, Dustin of Amherst; and by his step brother, Nicholas Frank; and step sister, Ashley Frank.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Zelma Stefek, Homer and Carol Stamper; and by his uncle, Michael Stefek.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Steven’s wonderful caregivers, Toni, Bailey, Tera, Glenda, Coco, Lanie, Marian, Kathy, and his teacher, Kim.
