Marjorie M. “Marge” Brown (nee Pitcock), 93, of Elyria passed away Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Lifecare Center of Elyria, following a brief illness. She was born December 28, 1919 in Berlinville and was a Elyria resident for most of her life.
Marge worked as a sales clerk at the former Style Center in Elyria, formerly worked as a waitress at the Elyria Country Club, was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Elyria, and was a member of the Air Force Mothers of America. She also formerly coached the DeMolay boys bowling teams, was named the Lorain County Fair Princess in 1936, was formerly involved with 4-H, the Girl Scouts, and the Cub Scouts, and enjoyed playing piano, singing, reading, walking, and knitting.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Don) Stann-Soukup of Port Clinton; son, Ron (Diana) Brown of Elyria; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer in 2003; son, Thomas in 1998; grandson, Kevin Brown in 1995; sister, Helen Hart; and brothers, Earl, Lewis and Bill Pitcock.
All services will be private. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 9715 East River Rd., Elyria.
