John Andrew “Johnny” Brattoli, 47, of Elyria, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. Johnny was born December 25, 1965 in Elyria, where he has made his home his entire life.
Johnny graduated from Murray Ridge School in Elyria. He worked as an assembler at the Murray Ridge Workshop for over 25 years. He was a long time resident of the Echoing Lake-Engram Home in Elyria.
Johnny had a wonderful sense of humor and was very caring. He touched the hearts and souls of friends and family by simply patting their hands, and putting his head on their shoulders to comfort them. Johnny was very active, and was affectionately called “Buddy” by his family, and “Little Johnny B” by friends and caregivers. He loved playing ball, singing, and dancing.
He is survived by his parents, John and Evelyn (nee Fisher) Brattoli of Elyria; four sisters, Rita (Sonny) Dukeman of Grafton, Karen (Dave) Brintnall of Medina, Mary (Mike) Karleskint of LaGrange, and Bonnie Cox of Westlake; two brothers, Mark (Lorraine) Brattoli of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, James (Annie) Brattoli of Amherst; sister-in-law, Sharon Brattoli of Elyria; 14 nieces and nephews; and 12 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jude Brattoli in September of 2012.
Friends may call at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. Father John Vrana, Associate Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
