Mildred E. Wirkner

Mildred E. Wirkner (nee Gruver), 87, of Elyria, passed away at EMH Healthcare in Elyria, following a brief illness. She was born September 14, 1925 in Marion, Ohio.

Mildred was a retired school bus driver, she enjoyed spending time with family, puzzles, reading, and bowling.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Weese (Larry) of Oberlin; step daughter, Marge Muloin (Wayne) of Avon; step sons, James Wirkner (Linda) of Yorktown, Virginia, and Edward Wirkner of Penn Valley, California; additional survivors include four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and four step grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Herb Wirkner; son, Robert Shober; her parents, James and Hallie (nee Scofield) Gruver; four sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call 4 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, (440) 322-4626, where funeral services will be 10 A.M., Thursday, March 7, 2013. Tom Bowman will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
