Helen Louise Westbrook (nee Barnhill), 93, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Northridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville. She was born May 9, 1919 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and moved to the area in 1961.
Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elyria. She was also a 44 year member of Al Anon, and the Red Hats.
Survivors include two sons, James Westbrook (Ruth) of Elyria, Jeff Westbrook (Janet) of Peachtree City, Georgia; and a step daughter, Betty Sue Goodwill of Plano, Texas. Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Stacy Phillips (Anthony) of Denton, North Carolina, Jennifer Ivy (Joe) of Mooresville, North Carolina, Kyle Westbrook of Tallahassee, Florida, Sean Westbrook of Peachtree City, Georgia, and David Jarvis of Madison Heights, Michigan; two step grandchildren, Mike Reynolds of Dallas, Texas, Rick Reynolds of Oklahoma.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James Westbrook Sr.; a son, David Westbrook; her parents, Frank and Grace (nee McDonald) Barnhill; and three brothers, Robert, Stewart, and Richard Barnhill.
Memorial service will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, March 9, 2013, at First United Methodist Church 312 Third St. Elyria, OH, 44035, where the family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until time of service. Reverend Roger Talbott, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be private.
