ELYRIA — A Lorain man has been charged with operating a vehicle while impaired in a crash that sent two people to the hospital Feb. 24.
George Seymore, 36, was charged after he attempted to turn east onto Chestnut Ridge Road, and his vehicle’s front end struck a 1994 Chevy pickup that was traveling west on Chestnut Ridge Road.
The driver of the pickup, Timothy Bring, 40, and a passenger, Mary Tobicash, 46, both of Elyria, were taken to EMH Elyria Medical Center.
Tobicash was thrown from the vehicle after it struck a utility pole. The 2006 Dodge Charger that Seymore was driving ended up in the front yard of 39009 Chestnut Ridge Road, according to a traffic crash report.
Seymore was not seriously injured, but police said he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.1. The legal limit in Ohio is 0.08.
Seymore was also charged with driving under suspension and possession of marijuana, according to court records. He was arraigned Feb. 26 at Elyria Municipal Court, where he entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.
A pre-trial hearing was set for 2:15 p.m. Monday.
