2:09 p.m. — Pronesti Lane and East Avenue, Michael Grissom. Jr., 18, arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. Police said Grissom was driving a stolen vehicle.
4:56 p.m. — 100 block Caroline St., a woman reported there was a muddy boot print on her door, as if someone attempted to kick it open.
Tuesday, March 5
1:30 a.m. — 1300 block East Ave., Shakeyla Cannon, 20, 300 block 16th St., Cannon’s husband told police that Cannon hit him in the face, and he was tired of Cannon hitting him and wanted it to stop. Police said the man was bleeding from a wound on his head. Cannon admitted to striking Cannon several times, but she said she did so because she believed he was going to assault her.
2:30 a.m. — 600 block Purdue Ave., a woman told police she heard “giggling” from behind her home and saw two unknown men standing by her 2011 Ford Fusion. She said as she approached the men, they ran, and she noticed her vehicle’s window was smashed.
Monday, March 4
4:59 a.m. — Colorado Avenue and Henderson Drive, Natasha Phillips, 22, 3100 block Grove Ave., arrested and charged with OVI. Police stopped Phillips for driving erratically with a loud stereo.
11:13 a.m. — 1500 block W. 20th St., theft of a laptop, books and iPod Touch from a vehicle overnight.
3:57 p.m. — 100 block W. Erie Ave., a woman told police she wrote a check to her neighbor for $5,351 for work that was supposed to be completed on her roof that was damaged from superstorm Sandy. The man cashed the check and never completed the work, she said. Police told her to contact the city’s prosecutor to pursue charges.
5:30 p.m. — 1000 block W. 38th St., theft of copper plumbing from vacant home.
