Janet L. Fries (nee Foulk), 80, of Grafton, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, at her home following a sudden illness. She was born December 28, 1932 in Alliance and was a Grafton resident for most of her life.
Janet worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, retiring from St. John Westshore Health Center in Westlake. Jan was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Valley City and she valued hard work, family, close friends, and homemade projects. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. While living her life on her farm, she enjoyed her horses, cats, dogs and gardens. During her later years she spent her time manicuring her property and working with her hands. She made gifts for everyone she knew for every occasion in life including: afghans, quilts, monogrammed pillow cases and towels. For every holiday she was prepared with gifts of zucchini bread and baked beans. Jan was a dynamic, full speed ahead woman accepting any challenge life presented and with her faith she weathered life’s many storms.
