Steve served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a pipefitter who retired following 56 years of service with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #42 in Norwalk. Steve was a member of American Legion Post #30 in Lorain. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, and raising flowers.
Steve is survived by his wife of 14 years, Shirley A. (nee Glatz); four daughters, Mary Ann Livchak of New York, New York, Paulette Martin (Jim) of Texas, Ellen Rebok of Lorain, Karen Dee (Tom) of Strongsville; four sons, Alan Livchak of Sheffield Lake, Dennis Livchak (Donna) of Sheffield Lake, Alan Hall (Alana) of Lorain, Bryan Hall (Betty) of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
Steve was preceded in death by a wife, Dorothy R. (nee Biltz); son, Craig Hall; his parents, Steve Sr. and Anna (nee Sunsiak) Livchak; three sisters, Stella Neiding, Julie McIntire, Mary Wersch; three brothers, Wasyl, Pete and Harry Livchak.
Friends may call 4 to 7 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2013 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, (440) 322-4626, where the family will also receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, March 9, 2013 in the funeral home. Father Basil Stoyka of St. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township, where V.F.W. Post 1079 will provide full military honors.
