Thursday, March 7
12:15 p.m. — 100 block West Ave., a representative of Enterprise Rental came to the police station to press charges on a man who did not return a rental vehicle. The employee said the man extended the lease on the vehicle several times, but he had stopped calling and had not returned the car. The suspect’s credit card had been declined, said the employee.

Friday, March 8
12:25 a.m. — 300 block 10th St., police were called to a home after three men wearing dark clothing tried to crawl into a window. The men ran after they realized the homeowners were in the room.
11:30 a.m. — 200 block Broad St., an employee at AAA Jewelers told police a man came into the store, inquiring about selling trains and stole a ring that was sitting on a desk for sizing. He said he confronted the suspect, who admitted to taking the ring, and he said the man told him he would bring it back but never did.
5:40 p.m. — 7300 block West River Road South, reported theft of a PlayStation 3 and two video games from a home. Police said no other items were reported missing, and no forced entry appeared to have been made.

Saturday, March 9
1:49 a.m. — 100 block Antioch Drive, police were sent to Stubby’s Pub and Grub for a woman who had been thrown out of the bar for fighting. Security personnel told police they believed the woman, who was wearing a pink tank top, had broken three car windows in the parking lot after she was thrown out. Police could not find the woman, and no one witnessed her cause the damage.
10:43 p.m. — 200 block Washington Ave., a woman told police an acquaintance stole a bottle of her Percocet. Police were unable to contact the suspect.

Lorain police

Thursday, March 6
6:30 p.m. — 1000 block W. 20th St., a man reported that his iPhone 5 was stolen from the French Creek YMCA in Avon on Monday, and he traced the phone using its GPS application to a home on West 20th Street. Police went to the home, but a resident denied having the phone and would not let the officer inside.
10:19 p.m. — 1800 block Leavitt Road, Princeton Edwards, 23, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Edwards’ girlfriend said Edwards threatened to kill her because he believed she took “crack” that he was going to sell. Police said the woman received several threatening text messages from Edwards while officers were at the house, and he was later stopped at West 21st Street and Leavitt Road and arrested.

Friday, March 7
10:09 a.m. — 1600 block E. 30th St., theft of several items from a vacant home owned by Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority. A maintenance man said he believed the burglar had a key to the home, because no forced entry was made.
10:43 a.m. — 2500 block E. 30th St., theft of cash and welding equipment during a home burglary. Police said the resident’s two dogs walked through the house after the burglary, so there was no usable evidence.
