Scott M. Miller

Scott M. Miller, 59, of Sheffield Village, formerly of Elyria, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at University Hospital in Cleveland. Scott was born on November 30, 1953 in Oberlin.

He was a 1972 graduate of Elyria High School where he enjoyed attending the Pioneer football and basketball games. Scott had attended eight local schools by the time he started at Elyria High and knew almost everyone. After graduation, he helped organize several reunions. Scott was employed at Ridge Tool for 39 years.

Scott enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and driving his Mustang. His travels have taken him to the top of Pikes Peak, to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Alaska, Aruba, the Caribbean, Yukon Territory, Hawaii, and most of the rest of the United States. Plane, train, ship, or automobile, Scott was always ready to travel.

He spent countless hours coaching baseball for Little League East. An avid golfer, he shot an Eagle on the 11th hole at Indian Hollow Golf Course. His team earned the title of Golf Champs for the 2005 Tuesday Night Ridge Tool golf league.

Scott is survived by his wife of 38 years, Terri L. (nee Moulder); sons, Matt (Bethany Adams) Miller and Todd (Cindy Bonewit) Miller; three grandchildren that he loved and teased mercilessly, Madeline, Tristin, and Braylon; brothers, Gary (Jan) Miller and Phillip (Dani) Miller.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ava Marie Miller on March 16, 1998; and his parents, John E. (1988) and Betty G. Miller (2006).

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 11, 2013 at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Wickens, Church of the Open Door in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery.
