1:20 a.m. — Lorain Boulevard (state Route 57) near Furnace Street, Da Landrious Henderson, 18, 300 block West 26th St., Lorain, arrested and charged with improper handling of a firearm, James M. Brown, 20, same address, cited for a stop sign violation. Police said they stopped the car Brown was driving for running a stop sign and found an unloaded .25-caliber revolver under the rear portion of the driver’s seat. Police said Henderson told them, “I put it there and I use it for safety.”
Saturday, March 9
1:49 a.m. — Stubby’s Pub and Grub, 118 Antioch Drive, bouncers said a woman who was thrown out of the bar for causing a disturbance broke the windows of three cars in the parking lot belonging to the bar owners.
6:37 p.m. — Sears, 4900 Midway Mall Blvd., Lionel Sanders, 36, 100 block College Park Drive, arrested and charged with obstructing official business, receiving stolen property and theft. Sanders is accused of stealing boots from Sears and running from police. Officers said they caught him in the woods near the Ramada Inn. Sanders was carrying a stolen ATM card, ID card and two blank checks belonging to another man, police said.
10:28 p.m. — 100 block Portia Court, James Harder, 38, 200 block 14th Street, arrested and charged with possession of drugs and obstructing official business. Harder tried to hide from officers and dispose of a tablet of Ecstasy in his pocket, police said.
Sunday, March 10
12:33 a.m. — Sidelines Bar, 105 Fairlawn Ave., Matthew Baisden, 27, 300 block Springbrook Drive, Elyria, arrested and charged with persistent disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Baisden continually screamed in the parking lot and called police “b—–s” provoking the crowd, officers said. Baisden said he was angry because someone fought with his brother. Police said he was warned to quiet down several times before being arrested.
1:14 a.m. — Lowell Street near Murray Ridge Road, David Hollis, 23, 2000 block Scott Court, arrested and charged with fleeing a police officer, drunken driving, driving with a suspended license, speeding and driving left of center. Hollis was driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone and initially refused to stop and drove erratically before stopping on Leo Bullocks Parkway near Murray Ridge, police said. An open bottle of cognac was found in the car. Hollis’ speech was slurred, his eyes bloodshot and he had trouble standing, according to police. They said Hollis refused to take a urine test for alcohol and drugs.
