12:01 a.m. — 3000 block Broadway, Cassandra Pollock, 20, arrested and charged with left of center, operating a vehicle impaired and consumption of liquor as a minor. Pollock was stopped for driving over the yellow lines, and she registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.134, although she denied consuming alcohol, according to police.
3:26 a.m. — 2500 block E. 33rd St., theft of a computer, television, game systems and jewelry during a home burglary.
4:07 a.m. — 1700 block E. 28th St., report of shots fired near the Cotton Club. A security guard at the club told police no incidents occurred inside the club, but she did hear a gunshot outside. Police found a .38-caliber shell casing in the parking lot but no one in the area.
6:49 a.m. — 1600 block E. 31st St., Scott Schooley, 37, same address, arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and domestic violence. A man told police Schooley had kicked at a door, splintering it, trying to get to his girlfriend, who was staying with a friend to get away from him. Another witness said Schooley accused his girlfriend of cheating on him and punched her in the face. Police said the woman’s eyes were swollen and she had difficulty breathing through her nose. Police found Schooley walking on East 32nd Street and arrested him.
8:05 a.m. — 1300 block W. 21st St., Darlene Phelps, 40, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Phelps’ daughter said Phelps threw a knife at her during an argument. Phelps admitted to throwing the knife, and a family member said she did so because she was not able to find what she wanted to eat in the refrigerator. The knife did not strike or injure anyone, police said.
1:30 p.m. — 1600 block E. 28th St., Pedro Ramirez, 33, homeless, arrested and charged with theft, criminal damaging and possession of drug abuse instruments. Police said Ramirez was found at Jam’s Jobs Auto Repair, and the owner believed Ramirez was responsible for breaking into several vehicles on the property and stealing change. Ramirez admitted to the thefts as well as being a heroin addict. Police said he was found with needles and a pipe.
Monday, March 11
9:49 a.m. — 2400 block of Broadway, theft of several tires and vehicle parts parked at Lorain Auto.
4:38 p.m. — 100 block W. Erie Ave., reported damage to a vehicle with no suspects.
4:45 p.m. — 300 block Oberlin Ave., theft of a gun from a home. The owner told police he believed his brother, who is addicted to drugs, stole it.
Sunday, March 10
6:30 p.m. — 100 block Rush St., report of shots fired. Two witnesses said a group of men came to a house on the street, trying to fight with residents and at some point shots were fired. Police said no one came forward to say that they had been assaulted, and no evidence was found. Police did find a bag of marijuana, but officers couldn’t determine whose it was.
