Lorain police

Tuesday, March 12

10:08 p.m. — East 28th Street near Globe Avenue, Sergio Arroyo, 22, 800 block E. 34th St., cited for changing lanes without caution and driving without a license. Isaiah Hopkins, 23, 5100 block Leavitt Road, cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

10:45 p.m. — 2400 block Wilson Drive, a woman told police she heard a loud banging noise at her bedroom window and found a crack in the glass. The woman said she saw no evidence of anyone being in her yard near the window or that an object had been thrown at the window.

Monday, March 11

2:10 p.m. — 1000 block Middle Ave., theft of copper piping from a home that was for sale.

3:14 p.m. — 400 block Midway Boulevard, a woman said a person took her purse containing numerous items and prescription medication in the Marc’s parking lot. Police said the woman did not report the incident until after canceling her bank card and reporting her medication stolen. The woman could not provide a description of the suspect or whether the person was male or female, but she said the person pushed her against her vehicle, grabbed the purse and ran.

4:10 p.m. — Brett Britton, 50, LaGrange, arrested and charged with drug abuse cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal trespassing. Police stopped Britton during a traffic stop after seeing him stop at Westway Garden Apartments, where police said he has been banned. Police said a pipe containing cocaine residue and drug paraphernalia was found in Britton’s vehicle.

Tuesday, March 12

2:48 p.m. — 500 block Ternes Ave., theft of a beer cooler from the Moose lodge.

10:40 p.m. — 300 block Washington Ave., Michael Ramirez, 29, Lorain, arrested and charged with burglary, four counts of intimidation and resisting arrest. Ramirez’s ex-girlfriend told police Ramirez barged into her apartment unannounced. The woman said she contacted police in the past after she’received threatening messages from Ramirez in which he “compares himself to LAPD Officer Dorner and stating that he was going to kill a lot of people.” During his arrest, police said Ramirez pushed officers, trying to knock them down. Police said he also threatened to kill the officers.

Wednesday, March 13

1:25 a.m. — 500 block Second St., a woman told police she saw a woman hit her 2004 Ford Taurus several times with a brick, damaging the trunk lid and both passenger windows. The woman believed the suspect was her child’s father’s ex-girlfriend. Police did not find the brick but said it appeared the car had brick dust on it.
