Victims of Rt. 57 crash identified

ELYRIA — Police have identified the victims involved in a crash Thursday night that sent three to the hospital.

Officers were sent to the intersection of state Route 57 and Taylor Street at 8:30 p.m. after a 1997 Toyota Camry collided with a 2002 Ford F-150.

The driver of the F-150 was ejected from the vehicle and was lying in the northbound lanes of state Route 57, according to a news release. The driver, 48-year-old Philip Mariner, of Elyria, was taken to EMH Regional Medical Center and later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where he was listed in fair condition Friday night.

The driver of the Camry, Richard Holt, 56, and passenger, Doris Holt, 55, also were taken to EMH and later MetroHealth.

Richard Holt was not seen in the hospital’s emergency room, according to a nursing supervisor, who said his wife, Doris Holt, was listed in fair condition.

Police are investigating the crash, according to the news release, and a cause was not listed. Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call the Elyria Police Department at (440) 323-3302.
