William S. Maloy, Jr.

William S. Maloy, Jr., 73, of Amherst, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. He was born October 28, 1939 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. William had made his home in Lorain before moving to Amherst where he had resided for the last four years.

William was employed at Ford Motor Company in Lorain for 38 1/2 years before retiring in 2004. He was a former member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Lorain. William was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #1662 and the Amherst Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1442.

He loved traveling to the Casino’s and playing the lottery. His hobbies included watching NASCAR and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. William had a great sense of humor and will always be known as a caring father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his sons, William Maloy, III of Louisville, Kentucky, Mark Maloy and his wife, Victoria of Elyria, Daniel Maloy and his wife, Charla of Garland, Texas, Thomas Maloy and his wife, Kristina of Bay Village; his daughter, Betty Ann and her husband, Nick Nichols of Lorain; 14 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Myers and her husband, Francis of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Sarah Marcinko and her husband, Joseph of Frederick, Maryland, Mercedes Hofmann of Elyria, Mary Eagan and her husband, Robert of Cleveland, Cynthia Gryczcan and her husband, Chris of Westlake; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William, Sr. and Sarah Maloy (nee Moudy).

Friends may call Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing Prayers will be held Monday, March 18, 2013, at 9:30 A.M., at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, North Regional Office, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
