Dorothy Helen Riccardi, 85, of Lorain, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 21, 2013, at EMH Healthcare, with her family at her side. Dorothy was born in Oberlin September 19, 1927. She was the youngest of four children.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory five children, Joseph, Thomas (Jackie), Michael (Diane), Daniel (Sharie), Elizabeth Betsy (Brooks); 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Marena (Tiny); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dorothy was an extremely devoted and caring, strong-willed mother that will truly be missed by all. With the passing of our mother, she took a piece of each and every one of us with her. We are all so very grateful to have been blessed to have a mother who gave all of herself to her family. Hopefully, all these pieces can one day be made whole again. We will all continue to carry the good traits she instilled in each and every one of us. Our promise to our mother is that we will take care of our wonderful family as if she were still here with us. We will love our mother for all eternity; she was definitely the best of the best.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Elizabeth Ludlam; and brothers, Harry and George.
Friends may call Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 5 P.M., until 8 P.M., at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road, Sheffield Township. Funeral services will be Monday, March 25, 2013, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Camden Cemetery, Camden Township.
