Stephen J. Hujo, 91, of North Ridgeville, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home, following a short illness. He was born in Natrona, Pennsylvania and been a resident of North Ridgeville for over 60 years, moving from Pittsburgh.
Stephen served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He worked as an upholsterer at various companies for many years, retiring in 1985. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, tinkering in his workshop and playing the lottery. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville and Knights of Columbus Council 7970. He was past President of St. Peter Holy Name Society, and a former member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Margaret; sons, Michael Hujo of Panama City, Florida, Robert (Brenda) Hujo of Mason, Joseph Hujo of North Ridgeville, Timothy Hujo of Cincinnati, George Hujo of Fairview Park, Jeff (Ellen) Hujo of Avon; daughter, Kathleen (Duane) Jarvis of Grafton; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Joseph (Eleanor) Hujo of Natrona, Pennsylvania; sister, Mary Rogalski of Natrona Hts., Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by son, Stephen; parents; and sister, Betty Valarik.
Friends may call Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 2 until 5 P.M., at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 9:30 A.M., followed by a 10 A.M., Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the Celebrant.
