Video store robbed for 2nd time in less than a week

ELYRIA — A man who robbed the Family Video at 141 Broad St. around 12:45 p.m. Sunday was being sought Sunday night.

Police Sgt. Lee Frank said a store clerk said the man appeared to be dropping off a video in a return slot and then went behind the counter and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.

The man shoved a clerk as he fled the store. The man is described as white, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, 170 pounds and wearing a black jacket.

The robbery is the second in less than a week at the store. On March 18, a man described as 5-feet, 9-inches tall and white, with a medium build and a beard went behind the counter and stole money before running from the store. He was wearing a dark blue puffy jacket, light jeans and Skecher-style shoes, police said.
