Lorain woman charged after rollover crash overnight

LORAIN — A Lorain woman has been charged after she rolled her car over on state Route 57 overnight.

According to the State Highway Patrol, Rachel Gnagy, 32, was driving north on 57 at 1:07 a.m. today in a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix.

About two-tenths of a mile north of state Route 254, she went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch and a culvert; the car came to rest on its roof, Sgt. Christopher Midkiff said.

Midkiff said no other vehicles were involved, and Gnagy was the only person in her car.

She was taken to EMH Elyria Medical Center with nonincapacitating injuries. Her condition was not immediately available.

Midkiff said alcohol is suspected in the crash, and Gnagy refused to take a breath test.

She has been charged with failure to control and driving under the influence, he said.
