Sylvia Katherine Bellinger (nee Eglinski), 82, lifelong resident of Lorain, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, March 24, 2013, following a courageous battle with Lupus/CREST Syndrome. She was born November 18, 1930 in Lorain.
Sylvia worked for 45 years selling advertising specialty items for Paulich Specialty Company in Cleveland. She also enjoyed working in ladies fashion retail throughout her life until her health prevented her from doing what she so enjoyed. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church and cherished being active in the Nursing Home Ministry. Bible study was an important part of her daily life. Her many hobbies included baking and cooking with her many grandchildren, reading, playing cards, bowling and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians.
Sylvia is survived by five children: daughters, Sylvia A. Bellinger of Pickerington, Ohio, Susan Johnson of Casa Grande, Arizona, Theresa (Tim) Van Dyke of Elyria, Andrea (Bob) Lewis, with whom she made her home; and son, Anthony P. (Melissa) Bellinger, Jr. of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; she is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister, Eva Torocsik; and brother, Herbert Eglinski.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Anthony Peter; and parents, Herbert and Elizabeth (nee Fior) Eglinski.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 1 to 7 P.M. at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd., Elyria. Service will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 28, 2013, burial will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman. Pastor Arnold Fleagle will officiate.
