Police: Job applicant walked out on $30 restaurant bill

ELYRIA — A woman who was applying for a job at a local restaurant left without making the best of impressions — she walked out on her bill of more than $30, according to police.

Officers were called to Texas Road House at 245 Market Drive a little after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Service Manger Jennifer Kelly told them that at 6:30 p.m. a woman had come in to fill out an employment application.

She said the woman turned in the completed application and then was seated and ordered food with one or two other individuals.

Kelly said that a waitress let her know shortly after 7 p.m. that all the individuals had walked out without paying the bill of $32.33.

Police took the parties’ receipts and the woman’s employment application as evidence.

A message was left for police today in reference to whether anyone had been charged.
