William E. Nix, 70, of Grafton, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his residence, following a long illness. Born in Cleveland on January 28, 1943, he grew up in Columbia Station and was a lifelong resident of this area.
Bill spent over 40 years as a Service Advisor and Salesman in the automotive industry and retired in 2010. He enjoyed raising and training bird dogs, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Nix was a member of Midview Baptist Church in Grafton and a lifetime member of the German Short haired Pointer Club of America and Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna (nee Clark); two sons, William E. Nix III (Peggy) of Elyria and George Nix of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren A.J., Erica, Cassandra, Brandon and Rachael; one great granddaughter, Ayanna; his mother, Anne (nee Grones) of North Ridgeville; four sisters, Karen Roop (Clifford), Amy Malloy (Tony), Kay Nix (Andy) and Jane Young (Richard); one brother, David Nix (Mary); and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Nix, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd. (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The funeral service will be at 10 A.M., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Midview Baptist Church, 36710 W. Royalton Rd. (Route 82), Grafton. Pastor Tim Mayo will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
