Anna M. Jubick

Anna M. “Momom” Jubick (nee Findish), 93, of Lorain, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born on December 17, 1919 in Hollsopple, Pennsylvania. She lived in Winder, Pennsylvania, prior to moving to Lorain in 1958.

She was employed for several years at Aqua Marine Resort in Avon Lake, and later retired after 13 years from Lorain Products in 1984.

Anna was one of 12 children. She was an avid bowler at North Coast Shoreway Lanes for many years on the senior league. She loved spending time with her family especially during the holidays. She enjoyed planting flowers, going on senior bus trips to casinos, watching Wheel of Fortune and Cleveland sports teams. Anna loved cooking, baking and doing word search puzzles. She was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Church and Slovak Catholic Sokols.

Survivors include her daughter, Patti Speckhart; and son, Chuck (Doreen) Jubick; five grandchildren, Ann Marie (Adam) Santana (nee Speckhart), Beth (Jamie) Bryant (nee Jubick), Jason and Jennifer Speckhart, and Sarah (Manuel) Vasquez (nee Jubick); seven great grandchildren; one step grandson, Sal (Shelly) Dellipoala; and three step great grandchildren; sisters, Susan Pepon, Agnes Bilich, Mildred Molnar, Margaret Gleto; and brother, George (Natalie) Findish.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Joseph C. Jubick; her parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Findish (nee Mocak); sisters, Mary Danko, Betty Mauger, Helen Kurowski; and brothers, John, Andrew, and Joseph Findish.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10 A.M. in the funeral chapel, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at Nativity B.V.M. Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. John Retar, Pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
