John E. Wing, 77, of Elyria, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, following a long illness. He was born February 26, 1936, in Elyria, where he made his home his entire life.
John was employed at Lear Romec – Crane Division for many years before retiring in 1998. His hobbies included woodworking, drawing, and fishing. Both he and his wife, Irene, enjoyed working at their booth at Jamie’s Flea Market
He is survived by his wife, Irene (nee Dean), to whom he was married 51 years; two daughters, Lori Wing and Janet (Tim) Roberts, both of Elyria; one son, Jeff (Dawn) Wing of Fort Mills, South Carolina; and seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jordan, Caleb, Joshua, Aaron, Justin, and Ashley; and one great grandchild, Cheyenne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph “Shine” and Margaret Wing (nee Ehrenfeld).
Friends may call at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 4 to 7 P.M. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Cemetery, Amherst Township.
