Bonnie Louise Stevanus, 65, of Huntington Twp., passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Hospice of Medina County. She was born in Amherst, on September 21, 1947 to Eugene and Phyllis (Powers) Sawyer and grew up in Elyria. She was a Keystone High School graduate and had resided in Huntington for 37 years.
Bonnie had worked for 34 years driving school bus for Wellington and Black River Schools, retiring from Black River four years ago.
Bonnie is survived by husband, Robert, to whom she was married for 46 years; three children, Bruce (Alisa) Stevanus, Donna (Chuck Bennett) Miller, Kevin (Laura) Stevanus; five grandchildren, Sean, Kyle, Hannah, Andrea, and Raedon; siblings, Ted (Vickie) Sawyer, Jane Waldo, Dave (Juanita) Sawyer, Cindy (Don) Carter, Rick (Pam) Sawyer, Ron (Lori) Sawyer; father-in-law, Twaine Stevanus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Amelia; brother, Donald Peter Sawyer; and mother-in-law, Margie Stevanus; sister-in-law, Connie Sawyer; and brother-in-law, Wally Waldo.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11 A.M., at the Huntington Community Church, 27500 St. Rt. 58, Huntington Twp. Pastor Steve Carmany of Huntington will officiate. Burial will follow at Huntington Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, April 8, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M., at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 East Main St., Spencer.
