Woman injured in Rt.10 accident

EATON TOWNSHIP — The Elyria post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a semi-tractor trailer/car accident.

The accident happened at 1 p.m. Friday on state Route 10 in Eaton Township.

According to Sgt. Tim Hoffman, a 2001 Nissan Sentra driven by Amanda M. King, 31, of LaGrange, was traveling eastbound on state Route 10 when she veered off the highway, drove into the median and back onto the highway, hitting the tire of a 2005 Peterbilt semi tractor driven by Richard A. Rogers, 55, of Elyria.

Once King’s vehicle hit the tire, it overturned, Hoffman said.

King was transported to EMH Elyria Regional Medical Center and was in stable condition, Hoffman said.

Hoffman said King was cited for failure to control, and additional charges are pending.

“Drugs are suspected as a factor in the crash, and she did not have a valid driver’s license,” Hoffman said.

The incident remains under investigation.
