Saturday, April 6

12:03 a.m. — 500 block East Ave., Jason Herzog, 37, no address available, charged with domestic violence, unlawful restraint, criminal damaging, disrupting public service and theft, but not arrested. Herzog’s former girlfriend, whom police said had small cuts on her hands, a and a bloody, swollen face, said Herzog broke into her home through the porch and chased her. She said she used a steak knife to defend herself and may have stabbed Herzog in the chest when he tried to grab her. She said he knocked her down and kicked and punched her in the head striking her about 20 times. She said Herzog wouldn’t let her leave the home and took her phone when he left. Police said they were searching for Herzog and he remained free Sunday afternoon.

3:48 a.m. — 600 block Purdue Ave., Jessica Tiller, 25, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Tiller’s girlfriend, whom police said had a bloody nose, bloody mouth, bloody arms and lumps on her forehead, said Tiller struck her several times after accusing her of infidelity.

3:20 p.m. — 300 block Washington Ave., Brandon Gorham, 29, 1300 block of New Jersey Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with menacing. Gorham is accused by the mother of the woman who has a protection order against him of lunging at the mother while screaming a racial slur at her in the mother’s apartment. Police said they heard Gorham screaming at the woman before they arrested him.

Saturday, March 23

9:49 p.m. — South Street and West River Road, driver cited for speeding and driving under suspension, no name given. Police said the driver was traveling 40 mph in a 25 mph zone and had three open license suspensions.

Monday, March 25

2:52 p.m. — 6700 block of Cliffside Drive, reported theft of jewelry from a home.

Amherst police

Saturday, March 23

12:40 a.m. — Cooper Foster Park Road and state Route 58, a juvenile charged with unruly child and curfew. Police said the boy took his family’s vehicle and ran away. He was found and taken to the detention facility, but later returned to his parents.

2:58 p.m. — South Lake Street, a former resident reported a theft of several items in 2011. Police said the suspect has a shop in LaGrange. The former resident was told to contact the prosecutor.

3:23 p.m. — 900 block of N. Leavitt Road, officers learned that three fake $20 bills had been passed in exchange for goods at Nate’s Marathon. Police identified a suspect through security footage.

4:36 p.m. — 600 block of Blossom Drive, Rodney Blankenship charged with soliciting without a permit. Police said Blankenship was walking from door to door asking for money.

10 p.m. — 700 block of state Route 58, a 51-year-old man in the parking lot of Speedway Gas Station said his vehicle was hit by a black Ford that left the scene. He described the driver as a black woman approximately 40-years-old, who was traveling north on state Route 58 toward Lorain. Police could not find the woman or the car.

Sunday, March 24

1:09 p.m. — 700 block of Lincoln St., a man told police his house had been egged near his 17-year-old son’s bedroom. The man said his son did not have any enemies that he was aware of and was out of town.
