Lydia Remming

Lydia Remming (nee Rinicella), 87, of Elyria, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a brief illness. She was born December 9, 1925 in Garfield Heights and has been an Elyria resident for 25 years, coming from New York.

Lydia was employed as a sales associate at the former Higbee Co. in Elyria for 18 years, and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria.

Survivors include her sisters, Mary Cardamone of Elyria and Micki Schmidt of Toledo; brother, Anthony Rinicella of Wickliffe; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bent Remming in 1969; sons, Scott and Thomas Carroll; and sister, Frances Rinicella.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11 A.M. at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Frank P. Kosem will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
