Mary L. Dixon

Mary L. Dixon “Sweet Pea”, 72, of Elyria, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at EMH Healthcare, following short illness. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, coming to Elyria 67 years ago.

She attended Elyria High School and was employed in the Laundry Dept. in the Elyria Methodist Home, also known as Wesleyan Village for 34 years and also EMH in the housekeeping Dept.

Mrs. Dixon former member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Lorain. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Davis of Elyria; step daughter, Pamela Cottle of Columbus; son, Leroy Davis of Elyria; one granddaughter and one great grandchild; ex husband, Robert Dixon of Lorain; sister, Doris Gill of Nashville, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and family and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Lucille Davis; granddaughter, Lashawn Austin; and a brother, Samuel L. Davis.

Friends may call Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at One Body of Christ Church, 600 Delaware Ave., Elyria, from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon. Rev. Franklin Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
