10:32 a.m. — 600 block East River St., police were sent to EMH Elyria Medical Center for a possible stabbing and met with the alleged victim, Leon Hale. Hale told police he was trying to break up an argument between two men when one of the men scratched him with a screwdriver several times. Police said Hale had minor scratches. Hale told police he was not concerned about the incident and was only at the hospital for treatment to a previous ankle injury.
2:20 p.m. — 300 block Fourth St., John Marcum, 60, same address, arrested and charged with driving under the influence, refusal and obstructing official business. Police were sent to Marcum’s home after his girlfriend said Marcum drove away highly intoxicated after an argument. Police said Marcum pulled into the driveway while officers were there, but he left after being ordered to stop. Marcum, who police said was intoxicated and nearly fell out of the vehicle, told police he was “just trying to get away from a bad situation.” Marcum refused to take a field sobriety test or a breath test.
6:45 p.m. — 100 block Pratt Blvd., Jermaine Jackson, 28, 300 block 16th St., arrested and charged with disorderly conduct persisting and criminal trespassing. Police said Jackson was at a large fight and refused to leave, mumbling obscenities about his child’s mother.
11:13 p.m. — 100 block West Ave., a woman reported her boyfriend from Cleveland took her vehicle without permission and tried to sell it to his aunt. The woman told police that the man, whose name was not listed in a police report, told her he was attempting to sell or get license plates for the vehicle under his name.

12:53 a.m. — 34100 block of Gina Drive, Evan J. Branzel, 18, of Elyria, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. Two juveniles were referred to Juvenile Court on the same charges.
2:44 a.m. — 6700 block of Nicoll Drive, Jerry J. Martin, 33, of North Ridgeville, charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and turning at intersections.
3:25 a.m. — 5300 block of Case Road, Xian Chen, 27, of North Ridgeville, charged with leaving the scene of an accident and reasonable control.
3:50 p.m. — 34800 Center Ridge Road, Joyce A. Haszto, 52, of North Ridgeville, charged with theft following a shoplifting incident at a Marc’s store.
