Jack Allan Bailey, Sr., 63, of Oberlin, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 in the New Life Hospice Center of Lorain, following a short illness. He was born in Oberlin and was employed in the maintenance department for Walmart in Oberlin since 2006.
Mr. Bailey was honored by Walmart for the opening of the Oberlin store by being the ribbon cutter. He would attend Original Glorious Apostolic Church to watch his grandson in different plays. He enjoyed football, especially Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed fishing, poker games, his grandson, family and friends.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his daughter, Minister Kimberly Roby of Elyria; son, Jack Allen Bailey, Jr. of Oberlin; grandson, Trevor Terry of Elyria; brother, Neil E. Bailey of Oberlin and nephews, Chad R. Bailey and Christopher R. Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Bailey.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Original Glorious Apostolic Church, 995 Foster Ave., Elyria, where service will be Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 12 Noon. Evangelist Doris E. Williams, Pastor of Original Glorious Apostolic Church will officiate and Rev. Larry D. Byerly of Words of Life fellowship will be the eulogist. Burial will be held in Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.
