Lorain man sentenced to 5 years in shooting outside Lorain bar

Capers

ELYRIA — A 20-year-old Lorain man will serve five years in prison for shooting another Lorain man multiple times outside Biggy’s Pub and Eatery in late December.

Marlon Capers pleaded guilty to charges of felonious assault and having weapons under disability during a hearing Thursday before Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Christopher Rothgery. Prosecutors dropped an additional charge of attempted murder in exchange for his plea.

Police were called to Biggy’s for a large fight and found Jon Jackson Jr. stumbling in the street near the bar’s parking lot. Jackson refused to cooperate in the investigation and wouldn’t say who shot him.
