Pair of Elyria men face drug charges

ELYRIA — Two men whom police say have been selling significant amounts of heroin in the city have been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation by the Elyria Narcotics/Impact Unit.

Wayne Norris, 26, was charged with three counts of trafficking in heroin, a fifth-degree felony.

George Seymore, 36, was charged with trafficking in heroin with a school specification, a third-degree felony, and two counts trafficking in heroin, a fifth-degree felony.

Norris was arrested April 18, and a search warrant was executed the same day in the Eastern Heights Boulevard duplex where both suspects live. Seymore was arrested Tuesday.

Police said Seymore, who is also a registered sex offender, is under community control sanction through Lorain County Court of Common Pleas Judge Mark Betelski and is supervised by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.

According to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office list of registered sex offenders, Seymore was released January 2006 on a rape conviction involving a juvenile female.

Police said Seymore and Norris may face additional charges pending a grand jury indictment.
